Fitness Fiend

Fitness hasn't always been a part of my life. I've always been physically active but not physically fit.
And yes, there is a difference!
Being physically active just means you're meeting the minimum requirement of activity that should be done on a day to day basis. For example playing with the kids, mowing the lawn, or cleaning the house are all day to day activities that will keep you active. Being physically fit is going above the minimum, doing actual workouts or resistance training. Having a healthy diet also goes along with being physically fit. Because in order to build muscle, lose weight, lean out or what ever your fitness goals are, you have to eat right and your body will do what you want it to do!

I started my fitness journey about  2 and a half years ago. I was working in a gym doing guest services, which meant dealing with all the meat heads, gym rats and pre-workout junkies that came in and out of the gym. Like I said before, I was physically active but not fit, so one day when one of the trainers told me to join him during his workout I thought, "Hey why not give it a shot!". I had no idea that I would fall in love with the feeling of being fit and the whole idea of fitness itself. Don't get me wrong, that first workout damn near killed me! Lol! I was no where near the level the trainer was on and I felt it the next day. Like I REALLY felt it!!!
Since then, I have become a pronounced gym rat myself. I workout 5 days a week, eat healthy, 90% of the time (eating super clean is the hardest part 😢). It's my goal to get to 100% because I do want to compete in a fitness competition one day. Staying dedicated and disciplined with my clean eating is my current goal. With that being said, I hope to compete next year in a bikini fitness competition.

I learn more and more as my fitness journey progresses. So keep a look out for future tips and tricks on how I eat clean, and my workout routine.
As always have a great rest of your week!!!

POP-up Shopping!

Hope everyone enjoyed the Thanksgiving holidays, I know I did! It was a much needed break from the madness of school. Even though my university didn't get the whole week off for the break (we got 2 days off instead of 5), I made the most of it. I spent most of it at home on the couch watching T.V, chilling with my family, and avoiding the stack of homework that was awaiting me in my room.
On Thanksgiving day I pretty much spent the whole day in the kitchen cooking, and helping my mom prepare the feast we had for dinner. Ate myself into a coma, woke up and went for a post coma run. Met up with an old friend for drinks later on that night, got my usual drink cranberry and vodka.
For black friday I did NOT leave my house!!! I love shopping and getting a good deal, but me and crazy people in big crowds don't mix! I did most of my shopping online in the peaceful comfort of my bedroom. I'll be posting what I got when I receive them in the mail. I'm so excited, I can't wait for you guys to see what I got!
Sunday was the only day I went out and did some physical shopping. Me and my good friend Anasheh went to a pop up shop event that was happening that weekend. They had some pretty cool shops, a live band, and food trucks, all set up under a huge warehouse in downtown houston. I didn't do to much damage, just picked up a couple things here and there. I got a lot of delicious smelling soaps I can't wait to use, and a cute hand made necklace I'll be featuring in future post.

Just a couple of pics form the Pop-Up shop
These Kitty undies were just so hilarious and so cute!

Check out BathCandy, if you want some yummy smelling soaps!

I love all this mans products, they're all natural and hand made by him and his family.

On Mondays We Wear Black!

Wearing...
Sweater: Vintage (Moms) | Top: Nordstrom | Boots: Charlotte Russe | Necklace: Thrifted

So its monday all over again, blah!
The day started a little rough, I woke up and my allergies decided to take over my face leaving me looking like a swollen blow fish. lol! But I took some handy dandy Benadryl and received my lovely face back. But was left with koala like drossyness for the rest of the day.
It's all good thought because thanks giving is in 3 days. I can't wait to go home and sleep in my own bed, wake up and cook thanks giving dinner, and eat lots of yummy food!!! I'll be making my famous stuffing and potato salad, what will you be making/having?

Today was super sunny as you can tell. The chill from last week still remains in the air though. My moms sweater came in handy keeping warm and toasty on my way to class. The top looks like something that should be worn during the summer, but because its thermal like material I was able to pull it off!
Have a great Thanks Giving!

Umm... Its Cold!!!

Wearing...
Cardigan: Wet Seal | Turtle neck: thrifted | BDG jeans: Urban Outfitters | Boots: Image
Pink stone necklace: Forever 21 | Headband: Beauty Supply
On my lips, Beautique jumbo lip crayon, color Blackberry: Sally's

So I'm a southern girl! And us southern girls are not use to cold weather. But boy let me tell you, with the way it got cold here in houston (out of no where) I had to get use to it, and fast!!! Because apparently its gonna be like this for a while. 39º and windy, not cool!
I really need to go shopping for a good coat because my hoodies, sweaters, and cardigans are not cutting it. On the plus side, the sun finally decided to show face the other day so I was able to wear my cardigan and not freeze to death!
Hope Hump Day and enjoy the rest of the week!

Halloween Warrior

Top: Thrifted $5
High waisted shorts: Forever 21 $17
Knee high sock: Urban Outfitters $14 here
Boots: Guess :$39
Sword: Halloween City $18
Fan: Halloween City $0.99
Wig: Beauty supply $24

Hope everyone had fun getting dress up for Halloween, I know I did! I'm currently in school so I'm balling on a budget. And since I'm on a budget there was no way I was going to spend $70-$150-$200 on a costume, so I went threw my closet and threw some things together. The end result was this Japanese warrior character lady. The only things I purchased was the swords, the fan, and the wig, all together I spent $43 which is not bad at all.
The reactions from my friends were priceless when they saw my costume, which was exactly what I was going for!
Coming up with a halloween costume can be fun, easy, and cheap. You just have to be open to your options and willing to look. Thrift shops or second hand shops can be a great alternative when your looking for an inexpensive or fun way to put a costume together.
Now I can't wait for next Halloween, time to start thinking of what I'll be next!
As always have a great week!!

I had a great 24th Birthday last friday (10/17/14)!!! Celebrated by having a simple dinner with my closest girl friends at Ra Sushi. And of course, like always I was late to my own bday dinner. Lol its all good, they expected that of me. I'm always late! My lateness was due to my unexpected wardrobe malfunction! I had a whole outfit planed out in my head, but for some reason when I put it together in real life it was an epic FAIL!!! Its a good thing that I had recently gone thrifting and had this skirt in my closet!
Thats it for now! Hope all my Libras had a great month and great birth days!
p.s Happy Birthday to this crazy Chick
